About Tarzana
Tarzana is an upscale residential neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles. It is named after the Tarzan novels because the land it currently occupies was once owned by author Edgar Rice Burroughs. Tarzana lies west of Encino and south of Reseda, jutting down into the Santa Monica Mountains, and as one might expect, natural beauty and picturesque mountain views are hallmarks of the area.

Because Tarzana is west of the 405, its real estate is more expensive and its residences trend toward larger, single-family homes, but over 40% of its residents are renters, so a balance exists in that regard. The only major traffic arteries running through Tarzana are Ventura Blvd., the 101 freeway, and in the very north, Victory Blvd. No LA-Basin-to-the-Valley routes exist west of Sepulveda/the 405; this is not especially convenient, of course, but it is preferable to many Tarzana residents who prioritize privacy.
