I’m looking for someone to take over his room, preferably for the long term. The room will be available November 1st.
The Apartment: Huge 2 bed 2 bath (Can’t find the square footage but it’s bigger than any of the 2 bedrooms I’ve looked at recently). Dark hardwood floors throughout. New lighting fixtures. Dishwasher. Granite counter tops. Central heat and air. Wet bar. Large south facing balcony looking out toward Universal Studios. Elevator. Laundry and manager on site. Managed by P.A.C Properties. Only a couple buildings down from Starbucks, 7-11, Papa Johns, and an excellent Thai restaurant and burger stand. Short walk to NoHo park. Somewhat longer walk to the heart of the HoHo arts district, CVS, and NoHo Copy Shop. Pets are ok with deposit. Easy access to the 101, the 134, and the 170. The building itself is currently being renovated so it will be up to date in a few months and is in a location with good parking. Your room would be the master, large enough for a California king sized bed and all the furnishings and a private bathroom. The living areas are already furnished but I’m open to discussing alternatives, I ‘m looking to spruce up the place anyway. The bedroom will be unfurnished and yours to do with as you please.
Rent is $900 plus utilities. I have internet but no cable, I have subscriptions to Netflix, Hulu, and HBO Go instead but I’m open to getting cable. For some reason, the electric bill comes every two months.
Me: I’m a 29 year old male freelancer in the entertainment industry and an Uber driver when things are slow. I like things to stay clean but I’m not a freak about it. I do have organized piles on my desk on a regular basis. Since my bathroom is the shared bathroom I try to keep it as clean as possible. I enjoy watching films and good television (of course) as well as the occasional evening of Mario Kart 64 with friends. I enjoy and welcome small gatherings. Otherwise, what’s the point of having a wet bar? Unfortunately, they haven’t been happening much here as of late though, so if you would like to keep it that way it’s no skin of my nose. I cook for myself and on the very rare occasion I like to make special dishes. I don’t really do drugs, but I don’t really have any issues with the green stuff. I do drink but rarely to excess.
You: I mostly just care about timely and reliable payment. Respectfulness is right up there as well. Someone who can communicate their needs clearly so we can nip any issues in the bud and avoid the classic passive aggressive roommate pitfalls. My preference would be for someone who is in the industry as well or at least in the arts, but it’s not necessary. Smokers are ok but only smoke on the balcony. You will have to fill out a P.A.C. Properties application and pass their application process to be put on the lease. If you have a pet, the building is limited to midsized dogs, cats, and anything smaller. You would be responsible for the deposit and any damage caused. You would also be responsible making sure everything is kosher with P.A.C. And finally, I would like to meet your furry, scaly, or feathered friend first.
