About Bankers Hill
Bankers Hill is a neighborhood within the city of San Diego that runs along the western edge of Balboa Park, home of the internationally renowned San Diego Zoo. Other neighborhoods adjacent to Bankers Hill—which, by the way, is also known as Park West—include Little Italy, Cortez, Midtown, and Hillcrest. The area is primarily residential and boasts a number of historic homes and buildings that have either been restored or repurposed.

Park West's proximity to (you guessed it) the park, as well as its proximity to both San Diego International Airport and the San Diego Bay, has kept it a desirable place to live and have spurred the construction of condominiums there. Bankers Hill residents enjoy many transit options as the neighborhood is quite walk-able, bike-able, and even public-transportation-able. As far as driving is concerned, the neighborhood is criss-crossed by 1st Street and Laurel Street and the 5 and 163 freeways are your best bet for lighting off elsewhere.
