About Hermosa Beach
Hermosa Beach is one of the so-called ‘Beach Cities’ in the South Bay region of Los Angeles County. It lies just south of Manhattan Beach and just north of Redondo Beach, ranging east of the Pacific Coast Highway by no more than a couple of blocks. Hermosa has some of the nicest public beaches in Southern California, and the waterfront homes there are gorgeous and extremely upscale. Hermosa Beach Pier is constantly buzzing with cyclists, sunbathers, and patrons looking to avail themselves of the area’s myriad bars, restaurants, and quaint shops.

A wide, well-kept, and heavily trafficked bike/foot path known as The Strand runs north-south along the sand. Hermosa Beach is densely organized and therefore very walkable/bike-able. Accessing the area to begin with can be a bit of a chore, but of course, many of its residents prefer privacy to convenience; options are limited to the Pacific Coast Highway, Artesia Blvd. (the 91), or, several miles inland, the 405 freeway.
