The Hollywood Hills are nested in the Santa Monica Mountains, just north of the Los Angeles Basin—Hollywood
, specifically—and just south of Burbank
. This is one of the most exclusive, upscale regions in the entire world, and as a result, many celebrities and prominent entertainment industry professionals choose to live in its various subdivisions, which are peppered with huge, gorgeous estates. Residents enjoy relative privacy, verdant green spaces, and phenomenal views of the rest of Los Angeles.
The Hollywood Hills are home to the Hollywood Bowl (a popular local amphitheater), to Forest Lawn Memorial Park, and to a portion of Griffith Park. All told, the neighborhood is a tremendously scenic and luxurious place to live. Its proximity to the 101 and 134 freeways makes for reasonable accessibility should you wish to venture out across the city; you can also get to West Hollywood
, Beverly Hills
, Los Feliz
, and to many other local destinations quite easily via canyon roads and surface streets. The Hollywood Hills are very, very car dependent.
