Reseda is a midsized neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley
region of Los Angeles. It is bordered by Tarzana in the south, Winnetka in the west, Northridge in the north, and Lake Balboa in the east. While most of Reseda has a decidedly urban feel a la North Hollywood
, those who enjoy green spaces and natural beauty will find it favorably situated: the Santa Monica Mountains and their wooded foothills lie just to the south; Lake Balboa and its vast lakeside recreational area lie just to the southeast.
The best access to local commerce is in Tarzana to the south, where Ventura Blvd. is characteristically blanketed with shops and restaurants. Following Ventura to the east, one will encounter a particularly vibrant commercial district in Sherman Oaks. The 101 freeway is Reseda's most easily accessible artery; Ventura Blvd., Victory Blvd., Sherman Way, and the 405 freeway are also important local throughways.
