About Alhambra
Alhambra is a city that, along with its neighbors to the north (South Pasadena) and south (Monterey Park), makes up the western terminus of the San Gabriel Valley. It also borders the community of El Sereno in the west, San Marino in the northeast, San Gabriel in the east, and Rosemead in the southeast. Some of Alhambra's most notable demographics include its high population density (11,000+ per square mile) and its relatively large Asian-American population. Alhambra has a fairly vibrant mini-downtown area blanketed with small cafes, shops, and restaurants, many of which reflect the city's ethnic diversity, particularly in the form of Asian and Latin-American cuisine.

Real estate in Alhambra has been in flux over the past few decades as the area has been gradually redeveloped; some home prices are inflated, pushing Alhambra's percentage of renters above 60%, and the jury is still out on whether it will end up gentrifying like Silver Lake and Los Feliz. In any case, the city is up and coming. Primary arteries: Huntington Dr. and the 10 and 710 freeways.
