About Atwater Village
Atwater Village lies just east of Griffith Park and Los Feliz. It runs north to the Route 134/5 freeway junction and south to the 5 freeway/Route 2 junction. Atwater Village is named for its proximity to the Los Angeles River flood plain, and while the LA River is not generally known for its natural beauty, this particular stretch of it is notably scenic.

If you prefer green in-city spaces, or at the very least, neighborhoods that give you quick and easy access to nature, Atwater Village might be right for you; Forest Lawn Memorial Park and the Glassell Park Recreation Center also fall within its territory. Culturally, the area has a bit of an old town feel, as many of its pre-1940's structures have been preserved.
