Cathedral City lies in the Coachella Valley region of Riverside County, CA. It is adjacent to Palm Springs
and is generally characterized by some of the same local culture: resorts, golf courses, night life, and a vibrant LGBT scene. Cathedral City is relatively populous, boasting the second most residents among municipalities in the Coachella Valley (50,000+); this citizenry is noted for its ethnic and cultural diversity, largely owing to its strong Latino community and to the burgeoning immigrant populations, particularly those with Armenian, Filipino, Salvadoran and Vietnamese origins.
There are many and varied housing options in Cathedral City fitting most any prospective resident’s needs, from historic areas to gradually gentrifying urban districts to neighborhoods filled with middle-class-accessible, single-family homes to sprawling, suburban developments. Like most cities in the Coachella Valley/Palm Springs area, Cathedral City boasts phenomenally picturesque views of the surrounding mountains and easy access to such outdoor recreation/vacation destinations as Big Bear, Joshua Tree, and of course, Palm Springs. Primary arteries: the 111 and 10 freeways.
