Los Feliz is an upscale neighborhood of Los Angeles. It sits just northeast of Hollywood
and just south of Griffith Park. For no apparent reason, locals tend to mispronounce its name pretty grossly; it is common to hear Angelenos roughing through some version of “Las Fee-las” or “Los Fee-less.” Inexplicable colloquialisms aside, Los Feliz is widely considered a phenomenal place to live. Most of its single-family homes are both gorgeous and historic (and therefore exorbitantly priced) but rental space houses over 75% of its population.
Los Feliz encompasses several distinct neighborhoods of varying income levels and characters. Most notably, Los Feliz Village exhibits myriad bars, restaurants, coffee shops, vintage clothing stores, etc., and is a hub of night life for the entire city of Los Angeles
. As it is right at the feet of the Santa Monica Mountains, Los Feliz is also quite a scenic place to live. The area is reasonably walkable, but not especially bikeable/bus-able. Primary arteries: the 5 freeway, Los Feliz Blvd., Hollywood Blvd.
