About City Heights
City Heights is a neighborhood in eastern San Diego. It is circumscribed by such areas as Islenair, Talmadge, Normal Heights, North Park, and Fairmont Park, among others. City Heights was once known as East San Diego, but its name was changed in the 1920's, a re-branding borne from technicalities surrounding the then-city's incorporation and subsequent dissolution, but not at all out-of-sync with its modern redevelopment and revival.

Post-2000, City Heights began to welcome new commerce; nowadays, it is a “walker's paradise” (according to WalkScore) and a fine place to shop and stroll. Public transit and biking are also solidly viable options for getting around. Prospective residents will note that the territory of City Heights includes a small, in-city park called Manzanita Canyon, which allows for some convenient outdoor leisure. Primary arteries: the 15 and 805 freeways; a little to the south, the 94 freeway is within striking distance as well.
