Lemon Grove is a small city in San Diego County. One might assume it to be a part of San Diego
proper on account of its location, as it is just a proverbial stone's throw to the east, but it is in fact fully incorporated and independent. Lemon Grove also borders Spring Valley
and La Mesa
, which will give prospective residents an idea of the environment there: as you move farther east, you approach more wooded areas and foothills. Lemon Grove is just a few miles northwest of Sweetwater Reservoir and San Diego National Wildlife Refuge.
This is not to say that Lemon Grove itself is overly rural or underdeveloped; it is a fully functional city with its own businesses, shopping centers, and the like. Centrality and accessibility for this area are strong, as it is bordered in the north by the 94 and in the east by the 125. Lemon Grove's motto speaks for itself: “Best Climate on Earth.”
