At 2.0-ish square miles, Valley Village is one of the smallest neighborhoods in the San Fernando Valley
region of Los Angeles. It is bordered in the north and east by North Hollywood
, in the south by Studio City
, and in the west by Sherman Oaks
. As compared to most neighborhoods in the Valley, Valley Village has a slightly more pronounced community feel. The NCVV, or Neighborhood Council Valley Village, generally seems to do an above-average job of liaising with City Hall: residents gush about how relatively safe, well-kept, and family-friendly Valley Village is.
Walkability and bike-ability in the area are both firmly above average, and because of its close proximity to the North Hollywood Metro Station, Valley Village enables residents to use LA's swiftly expanding train system. Prospective residents with vehicles will note that Valley Village is a reasonably accessible area because of its centrality unto the Valley and because of its proximity to the 101, 134, and Laurel Canyon Blvd.
