About Beachwood Canyon
The Beachwood Canyon community is a part of Los Angeles proper, and more specifically, the Hollywood Hills region. It is perhaps best known for its proximity to the iconic Hollywood Sign. Part of Beachwood Canyon used to be the Hollywoodland community, which was developed in the 1920's and which was famously advertised with a gigantic 'Hollywoodland' sign; now, of course, it simply reads 'Hollywood.' This landmark and the dozens of heavily trafficked hiking trails that wind through the Hollywood side of the Santa Monica Mountains attract throngs of tourists to the area.

As far as housing goes, Beachwood Canyon is about as scenic, exclusive, and upscale as the rest of the Hollywood Hills, though perhaps more densely organized in some spots. Parking is permit-based in certain sections of the community, but not in others; be aware that tourism greatly affects both street space and traffic. Beachwood Canyon is closest to the 101 freeway, 170 freeway, Franklin Ave., and Mulholland Drive.
