Canyon Country is a district within the eastern territory of Santa Clarita, California; it is a part of Los Angeles County, just north of the San Fernando Valley
region, generally sandwiched by Valencia
in the northwest and by the San Gabriel Mountains and the Angeles National Forest in the southeast. Since we're on the point, it is worth elaborating on the whole mountains thing: the views are really quite stunning, and those who wish to live in a more open, more naturally beautiful version of the Los Angeles/Southern California area will be well satisfied.
Canyon Country is somewhat cut off from the rest of Los Angeles County; commuting to the San Fernando Valley is reasonable, but most anything else is not. Families will note that the entire Santa Clarita
area is known for having strong schools, both public and private. Primary arteries include the 5 and 14 freeways, as well as Newhall Ranch Rd.
