It borders Placentia in the east, Brea and La Hambra in the north, Buena Park in the west, and Anaheim in the south. Fullerton is probably best known as the home of California State University, Fullerton, the largest campus in the public California State University system, at least by enrollment standards. The school's 38,000-plus students and their comings and goings lend the city of Fullerton a bustling, college-town feel. Fullerton is also known for its music scene: it is the historic birthplace of Fender, a greatly influential musical instrument company, and it remains a hotbed for hardcore punk and alternative music. Housing in the area is diverse.
