Arcadia is a northern city in the San Gabriel Valley
region of Los Angeles County. It borders more than a half-dozen SGV municipalities and unincorporated territories, including and especially Monrovia, Temple City, Sierra Madre, and East Pasadena. Arcadia exhibits striking natural beauty on account of its proximity to the San Gabriel Mountains, which are just to the north: residents and passers-by alike are wont to gush over the striking, picturesque quality of life in the foothills there. Arcadia is perhaps best known as a bastion of high-quality public education.
Nearly all of its schools grade out as perfect or near-perfect in the California Department of Education's Academic Performance Index. Needless to say, this entices many families with younger children to move to the area. The other side to this coin is that Arcadia is generally not a place to target if you are interested in night life, bars, etc. Primary arteries: the 210 freeway, Huntington Drive, and Santa Anita Ave.
