About Echo Park
Echo Park is a 2.4-square-mile section of Los Angeles in the Downtown area. It is sandwiched between Silver Lake and Elysian Park. As one of the most densely populated spots in Los Angeles County, Echo Park exhibits, predictably, a high percentage of renters among its residents. Its population is predominantly Latino, but is also moderately diverse.

In addition to the bars, nightclubs, and restaurants in the immediate vicinity, Echo Park inhabitants enjoy easy access to the commerce and culture of Los Feliz, Silver Lake, Downtown, and of course, Dodger Stadium; it is also a decent home base from which to commute across Los Angeles, with immediate access to the 5, 101, and 110 freeways. Because of its proximity to Downtown LA, access to the LA Metro hub there is also a perk of living in Echo Park. The typical pros and cons of living in a Downtown-adjacent area apply: traffic congestion and parking scarcity can be problematic, so plan accordingly.
