About El Cajon
El Cajon is the easternmost city in San Diego County, abutting mountainous lands along the fringes of the Greater San Diego area. It borders Granite Hills, Bostonia, Santee, and Casa de Oro-Mount Helix, among other townships. With right around 100,000 residents, El Cajon is fairly populous and holds about twenty elementary schools, six middle schools, and six high schools in only about 14.5 square miles of territory.

Prospective residents will note that the area is fairly green and somewhat less urbanized than much of the rest of San Diego County; one can also spy a lovely mountain vista in most directions, as El Cajon is more or less cradled in its own little valley.
