About Lomita
The tiny city of Lomita is as far south in the South Bay region as one can go without entering the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Its 2.0-ish square mile territory was once much larger, but has been variously carved up and annexed by neighboring municipalities for airport construction (Zamperini Field) and other such projects. Residents enjoy close proximity to the Peninsula Shopping Center in Rolling Hills Estates, the Torrance Towne Center, and the ‘downtown’ Palos Verdes commercial area.

Because of how far south it is, Lomita exhibits some notable scenic improvements over South Bay cities like Torrance and Hawthorne: trees, hills, etc. For those who may not know, cell phone reception is notoriously horrendous in Palos Verdes, but Lomita allegedly does not share this inconvenience. The city has strong accessibility and centrality for the greater South Bay area, primarily via Palos Verdes Dr. North, the Pacific Coast Highway, Western Ave., and the 110 freeway.
