Santa Ana is an immensely populous, inland city at the heart of the Orange County
region of Southern California. It is surrounded by more than a half dozen cities, including and especially Orange, Garden Grove, Fountain Valley, Costa Mesa
, and Tustin. Santa Ana is the 4th most densely populated city (with a population of at least 300,000) in the entire United States; according to census data from 2010, there were more than 76,000 housing units, split nearly evenly between rental and owner-occupied, spread over approximately 27.5 square miles of land. It is also where Orange County keeps its county seat, which employs more than 15,000 locals.
Santa Ana is sought out for its centrality, accessibility, and broad spectrum of housing options. Residents enjoy easy access to the culture and commerce of Newport and Huntington Beaches, as well as the open green spaces of the Santa Ana Mountains to the east and Crystal Cove State Park/Laguna Coast Wilderness Park to the south.
