About Encino
Encino is a neighborhood of the City of Los Angeles in the San Fernando Valley region. It occupies the southwest corner of the 101 freeway-405 freeway junction and is bordered by Tarzana, Lake Balboa, and Sherman Oaks. Encino is relatively affluent unto the rest of the Valley, exhibiting standout figures across several demographic categories, from its population density (low) to its median household income (high) to its percentage of residents with four-year degrees (high), etc.

Natural beauty is one of the area's best qualities; because Encino sits atop the wooded foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains, just north of the range itself, it affords residents phenomenal views, government-preserved green spaces, and a bit of seclusion from the hustle and bustle of LA proper and other, more urban areas of the Valley. Other than the freeways, Ventura Blvd. and Sepulveda Blvd. are Encino's primary arteries. The neighborhood is firmly car-dependent, except in the north along the commercial areas of Ventura Blvd.
