About Studio City
Studio City, despite its name, is a neighborhood within the city of Los Angeles. It is located in the San Fernando Valley, just north of the western Hollywood Hills and just southwest of the 101, 134, and 170 freeway junction. The name “Studio City” comes from the CBS Studio Center, constructed in 1927. Residents have easy access to local activities like the culture and night life of West Hollywood, the upscale eateries and storefronts of Beverly Hills, and the movie, stage, and improv theaters of Hollywood.

The area is not especially walkable/bikeable/bus-able when it comes to running errands, but residents celebrate their ability to walk or bike for pleasure along well-kept streets running through scenic, rural-feeling neighborhoods. There are also some shops and pubs and restaurants along Ventura Boulevard that provide a bit of a local hub.

Studio City's centrality for car owners is strong as it sits on the convergence of multiple major freeways and is also accessible by way of the canyon roads and surface streets that crisscross the Valley. Allegedly, residents who work in the entertainment industry enjoy the shortest average route to all major studios. Educational options in the area are strong; Studio City is home to two highly regarded private schools: Harvard-Westlake and Campbell Hall.
