Located about six miles west of Downtown San Diego, Skyline is a hilly neighborhood set just outside the busy sections of the city, but close enough for quick commutes. The neighborhood boundaries form a figure 8 of sorts, with Skyline Drive forming the southern border for much of the neighborhood, until it intersects with Meadowbrook Drive to form the northern border. This is where you’ll find Skyline Park, which features a playground, basketball courts, and a rec center. Other neighborhood parks include Encanto Park and Officer Christopher Wilson Memorial Park. While Skyline is mostly residential, you’ll find a smattering of shops and restaurants in the neighborhood. Imperial Drive provides more shopping and dining options, including the popular Sammy’s Mexican Bakery and Caribbean Taste restaurant. On weekends, travel east to the Spring Valley Swap Meet, a terrific outdoor flea market where you’ll find a farmers market, antiques, flowers, and more.
