About Venice
Venice, CA (also known as Venice Beach) is a coastal neighborhood of Los Angeles. The area is blanketed with rental units that are primarily older, smallish, and quaint, though there are some very upscale residences as one approaches the beach. The area attracts a great deal of tourism. Its pier and promenade are well known in the public conception of LA and are frequently depicted in television and film: free-spirited and bohemian hordes of roving street performers, skateboarders, and oddity vendors swarm about the novelty shops, curbside art galleries, and restaurants lining Venice's gigantic bike/foot path.

A little further from the beach, Abbot Kinney attracts a great deal of night life to its pubs and date-friendly eateries. If you prefer biking or walking to driving a car, Venice is worth your consideration, as many residents choose to stroll about in the fine weather rather than brave the very cramped and tightly regulated parking situation there.

Note: some housing options do not come with dedicated parking. Venice is its own world and flows along at its own carefree pace; its many murals and other bits of street art broadcast the spirit of creativity it has maintained since the 1950's and 1960's when it was a center of Beat culture.
