About Sunland
Sunland is one of LA's northernmost neighborhoods; it lies nestled in the little-known Tujunga valley, up against the periphery of the San Gabriel Mountains. Officially, Sunland is part of a joint community with Tujunga, its neighbor to the east, and their union is known as Sunland-Tujunga. Some areas within this territory are not technically incorporated within the City of LA, but its entirety is served by LA County—post offices, etc.

Whatever moniker you stick with, Sunland/Sunland-Tujunga is widely considered a phenomenal place to live. The wooded foothills and bluffs of the San Gabriel Mountains lend Sunland a hidden-away sort of feel. It is relatively high-income, relatively low-crime, and relatively sparsely populated unto Los Angeles. Accessibility is not Sunland's strong suit—the 210 freeway is its only real connection to the rest of the county—but of course, many residents prefer this. Prominent surface streets include Sunland Blvd., Wentworth Street, and Big Tujunga Canyon Rd.
