About Harbor City
Harbor City, as its name would indicate, was once an independent municipality; it has since become an incorporated neighborhood of Los Angeles. It is surrounded by Lomita, West Carson, Wilmington, and San Pedro in the inland South Bay region. A large swath of Harbor City’s territory is taken up by Harbor City Park, which has a recreation center, a baseball diamond, and barbecue pits. Harbor City is ethnically diverse and evenly split between rental housing and single-family homes.

North-south mobility in the area is primarily limited to the 110 freeway, particularly if you want to get up toward Downtown LA, though Western Ave. is serviceable for short-ranged travel. Access to ‘downtown’ Palos Verdes and to the commerce lining the Pacific Coast Highway is reasonable, and of course, San Pedro and its seafood are just a short trip to the south. Harbor City’s most prominent local business is a large Kaiser Permanente Medical Center.
