About Laguna Hills
Laguna Hills is a smallish inland city that sits smack-dab in the middle of southern Orange County, bordering Irvine, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Laguna Niguel, Aliso Viejo, and Laguna Woods. Its territory was originally a series of ranches, but the area eventually coalesced into a city, officially incorporating in 1991. Nowadays, Laguna Hills is characterized by a moderately high median annual income (over $85,000 as of 2010) and by ready access to beaches, mountains, wilderness, and urban centers alike.

As the 'Laguna Hills' name would indicate, the city's topography begins to blend with the hills that lead to the Santa Ana Mountains in the east. Housing there is dominated by owner-occupied units—predominantly single-family homes—to the tune of a 75%-25% owned-to-rented split. Laguna and Newport Beaches and their vibrant surfing, dining, and cultural scenes lie just to the west of Laguna Hills, and in general, the 5, 405, and 73 freeways afford its residents reasonably convenient access to the rest of Orange County.
