Sun Valley is a populous neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles. It girdles the 170 freeway-5 freeway junction near Burbank, North Hollywood, Panorama City, and Shadow Hills. Sun Valley was once a railroad hub called Roberts, then Roscoe; it is now known as an affordable place to live in the Valley with strong, central freeway access and a notably picturesque view of the western San Gabriel Mountains. While Sun Valley is somewhat walkable/bike-able, accessibility via car is one of its high points; with the 5, 170, 134, 101, 210, 118, and 405 freeways all in striking distance, it is a very reasonable locale from which to commute across the city. The density of commerce in Sun Valley itself is somewhat low, but proximity to the shops and malls in Glendale and Burbank helps to mitigate this deficiency. Other important local throughways include Lankershim Blvd., Roscoe Blvd., and San Fernando Road.
