Playa Vista is an exceptionally small neighborhood in West Los Angeles
. It is bordered by the 90 freeway in the north, Lincoln Blvd. in the west, LMU and Bluff Creek Drive in the south, and the 405 freeway in the east. The scenery in Playa Vista is somewhat unique unto Los Angeles: the Ballona Wetlands—one of the few remaining wetlands areas in the city—are just across the way, perfectly visible from many of Playa Vista's housing developments in the west.
As the community has only morphed into its current form over the last twenty years or so, much of Playa Vista's housing comes in the form of large, multi-unit complexes; the neighborhood's website boasts options ranging from “beachy brownstone flats to sophisticated modern luxury homes.” Several major companies like Facebook, YouTube, Microsoft, EA, and TOMS have campuses there, as well. The area is not especially walkable, but is somewhat bikeable for basic errands. Primary arteries: Jefferson and Lincoln Blvds., the 405 and 90 freeways.
