About El Segundo
El Segundo is the northernmost of Los Angeles County’s so-called ‘Beach Cities.’ It is bordered by Westchester in the North, Hawthorne in the east, Manhattan Beach in the south, and of course, the Pacific Ocean in the west. El Segundo is not especially large—its area is just under 5 square miles—nor is it especially populous—it has just above 16,500 residents—but it does have a great deal of industry within its borders, and therefore, a considerable number of jobs.

Several aviation companies have campuses there, chief among them: Boeing, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon. It is also home to the Los Angeles Air Force Base and immediately adjacent to Los Angeles International Airport. With the Pacific Coast Highway and the 405 freeway just to the east, as well as the 105 freeway to the north, El Segundo has strong centrality and accessibility. Residents can also enjoy the food, culture, and night life of the other, more pedestrian-friendly Beach Cities to the south, including Redondo Beach and Hermosa Beach.
